Norm Slatter - Bass Guitar Email Norm
As our newest member, Norm is a life-long bass player and songwriter who has played in many local bands over the years in the Ottawa area. His love for strong bass lines (it's called funk guys - not Disco !) and vocal harmonies attracted him to Starfire. When not playing with the band, Norm can be found in the bowels of his home studio working on the next "sure fire hit" - well... maybe not a hit, but he's working on something that sounds good to his ears.

Normand Matte - Guitar Email Normand
Normand is having fun bending those strings to perform your favorite licks and riffs that you've been waiting to hear. From the six string acoustic guitar in his younger years, to twelve string picking and then gone electric (not mad though), he's played them all; great fit for the diversity of music played by Starfire.

Throughout the years, Normand has been a self-taught musician and then the urge to express his talent to the world came about...something about being over forty is our best guess...but whatever the source is, we like it!

Robert LeFort - Percussion Email Robert
Robert has been passionate about music all his life and started banging on furniture as a young child and eventually began playing drums at the early age of 12. Having grown up on the East Coast in a musical family where his father and brother were both professional music teachers in Cape Breton Island, it was no wonder that music ran rampantly through his veins. Robert spent 13 years living and playing drums in Toronto bars with bands such as Relic and Black Diesel before moving to Ottawa in February of 2005. His drumming has recently evolved into percussive instruments and you'll be able to see him playing the congas and grooving to the tunes at the next Starfire show.
